Dear B.S.Y. Boost
Shortage of Fertilizers during monsoon season humbled not only Karnataka farmers, but also the newly formed BJP Government led by Chief Minister B.S. Yeddurappa. Agitation and firing on farmers turned to be a tragedy.
After all these incidents, Chief Minister called the meeting of farmers collected their opinion assured them that the forthcoming Budget would be pro farmer. He also led a delegation to Delhi, met Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh and appealed him to release more fertilizer.
The important thing which attracted my notice is the small news that the state budget would be pro organic farming. The report in Deccan Herald said that Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has expressed his dissatisfaction over the growing use of chemical fertilizers by the farming community which is not only leading to the loss of soil fertility but also seriously affecting the economic condition of the farmers.
PARYAYA, in many of its articles on Agriculture gave stress to go for Organic or Savayava. (ref: articles on Agriculture in this blog). Now more and more people are realizing this.
We urge the Cheif Minister to go forward in this direction firmly, without diluting his opinion at any cost and gave more boosts to Organic Farming based on the Cow dung, cow urine and earthworms.
In support we produce here the letter appeared in Vachakara Vijaya of Vijyaya Karnataka, which is nothing but the opinion of the public at large.
