Poonch gunfight ends, four terrorists
killed
Jammu: The three-day-long operation against
militants in Poonch district
of Jammu region ended on Tuesday, 13th September 2016 evening.
However search operations are still continuing in the area, police and security
forces said..
The police said the operation against holed up militants in the
under construction Mini Secretariat building in Poonch town ended with two more
bodies of militants having been found
inside.
Firing had started between the holed up militants and security
forces in the area on Sunday, 11th September 2016..
Four militants and a policeman were killed in the gunfight while
five others, including a Sub-Inspector of Police, a civilian and three army
soldiers, were injured.
The Army had pressed its elite commandos into the operation to
flush out the holed up militants.
While two militants were killed on Sunday, the body of
the remaining militants were found by the search parties of the Army inside the
60-room building on Monday and Wednesday.
