Yes, it took one more toll. M. Vyasa, famous small story writer in Kannada Literature M.Vyasa died on 23 July 2008 at Kasaragodu. Along with urinal problems, it is Chikoongunya which took him away from us.

Dreaded Chikoongunya has affected not one or two persons like this; it widely affected entire Dakshina Kannada District and Kasaragodu District. About 4 lakh people in these areas are suffering from this disease; Recently Rural Devolopment Minister of Karnatka Shobha Karandlaje also admitted it.

You can see one or two chikoongunya victims in every house in these two districts. According to recent press reports about 72 people died because of this Chikoongunya.

Agriculture suffered most and no workers are getting for cultivation and horticultural works. Almost all doctors in the area are engaged in treating patients day and night.

Earlier it was believed that if rain comes, disease will disappear as mosquitoes will washed away in rain. But recent experience says it is not so. Even after heavy rains, disease is neither reducing nor coming under control. Each day fresh cases of Chikoongunya are being reported in both districts.

Out of Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragodu districts, most affected areas are Sullia, Puttur, Vittla and Kasaragodu. Total living is paralyzed in these areas. Lack of control measures, short of medicines is aggravating the condition. Many medicines are tried. But human suffering is continued. Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Allopathy are giving relief to some extent.

In Ayurveda, Indigenous Cows urine, ghee based drugs are giving very good result. That is why Shree Shree Raghaveshwara Bharathi Mahaswamiji Shree Ramachandrapura Matha directed Amrithdhara Goushala Bajakudlu Perla Kasaragodu to take the project of manufacturing and distribution of Panchagavya drugs under the guidance of eminent Ayurveda doctors like Dr Giridhara Kaje Bangalore, Dr Jayagovinda Ukkinadka for Chikoongunya.

Some drugs are - 1] Goamritha-antipyretic, 2] Bhomika-antiviral, 3] Gunyanashaka-anti inflammatory, 4] Gosaravati-antiinfective, immunostimulant, 5] Shamana taila anti-inflammatory ointmentBy involving expert BAMS doctors, treatment camps are scheduled in different areas of effected locality.

In Perla, Kasaragodu on 22nd June first camp was conducted. The Panchagavya medicines are distributed at free of cost. Nearly 300 patients attended.

Other camps conducted -- Sarve Puttur, Puttur, Guruvayanakere, Shiradi, and Manya.Next camps scheduled - Uppinangady, Alankar, Bellare, Chokkady, Hebri, Udupi, Moodabidri, Kasaragodu, and Kumble.
In a camp of 500 patients nearly Rs 15,000.00 worth medicines are required for distribution. Some donors came forward to sponsor these medicines. But huge amount of money is required to make these drugs in a large quantity so that these camps could be extended to more areas.

In this backlash Dr. Y.V. Krishnamoorthy of Kamadugha project, Sri Ramachandrapura Matha requests all people to donate to this noble cause. These donations shall in the name of Kamadugha which will get tax exemption under 80G rule.

Kindly Come forward, Donate & Help to helpless people. Dr Y V Krishnamoorthy could be contacted in the Phone No: 09449595206.
