10th Jackfruit Event..!
On 14th June 2009, Sunday, Simply Organic, An organic shop at Bangalore celebrated its first birthday by hosting a Jack fruit fair in association with Sahaja Samruddha and other organisations. This was the 10th Jackfruit event of this season in the adjoining states of Kerala and Karnataka.

One highlight was that to go along the jackfruits that are cultivated ithout the use of any chemicals, All the products made were 90% organic.
Shri Kamath, a specialist cook in Jack had prepared Jack fruit rasayana, payasam, halwa, kotte kadubu, idli and many other traditional dishes, desserts etc.
Farmers from Toobugere - Jackfruit Growers Association -had brought their select jack fruits and sold it in lose. Interestingly, they netted around 300 Rs per jack as compared to around
Rs 50 they make usually at their farm gate by selling to middlemen.
"We managed with most of the organic groceries we have here in our shop.I never dreamt that there would be such a lot of people who are interested in Jack. Though we didn't give much publicity & organised this in urgency, it has made a real mark", says an excited Govind Kabadi, owner of Simply Organic.
'' Our main objective was to make people know more about the potential and taste of jackfruit and its products and facilitate them to taste many of its products at one place together.We would like to make his an every year affair", he says.
