day long Musical Tribute to
late
Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi
Bengaluru: Sanjog Bansuri
Mahavidyalaya, Department of Kannada and Culture and Godkhindi music and
entertainment will hold a day long musical tribute to Veteran Bansuri Vidwan, Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi (who was passed on April 14, 2015) on Friday,
April 15 to mark the first year of his death anniversary under the title Swara Shraddanjali.
This programme will be held at
JSS auditorium of the Jayanagar between 9 AM and 9 PM on April 15. Well known Bansuri (Flute) musician Pravin
Godkhindi who is the son of late Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi are organising this
event.
Highlight of this musical
tribute event would be presentation and discussion by well-known Mrudanga
artist Vidwan Anur Ananthakrishna Sharma who will present his Mrudanga
performance with his disciples named as Tani Avarthana. It will be followed
by Santoor /Sitar Jugalbandi by Mr
Sanjeev Korathi and Mr Ashwin Valavalkar. Students
of Sanjog Bansuri
Mahavidyalaya will perform after 3.30 pm which include classical music and
flute music performance. It will be followed by tabla performance by Mr Kiran
Godkhindi.Evening programmes include unveiling of new musical instrument Chitravenu. Vidwan Udayshankar will unveil this new musical instrument. Vidushi Gowri Patare will present Hindustani classical music.
Father-Son
Jugalbandi: Highlight of the event would be Flute Jugalbandi between
Pravin Godkhindi and his son Shadaj Godkhindi. Father-son duo of Pt. Ravindra
Yavagal and Kiran Yavagal will accompany them in Tabla.
Free entry: Entry to this 12
hours musical tribute programme will be free. All the music lovers requested to
make the event a great success which is the true tribute to late Pt. Venkatesh
Godkhindi.
