Jammu-Delhi Rajdhani Express Searched as Cops Receive 'Threat Input'

CHANDIGARH:  A thorough search was carried out in Jammu-Delhi Rajdhani Express at Pathankot in Punjab on 07.12.2014, Sunday night after "specific threat input" received by the police.

Nearly 150 security personnel including three DSP-rank officers of the Punjab Police, one SP-rank officer and personnel from the Government Railway Police (GRP) searched train.

"There was a specific input passed on by the DGP of J&K Police to us after which we acted swiftly and started searching the train thoroughly," Pathankot SSP Rakesh Kaushal said.

Army too had been alerted, he said.

The passengers were asked to deboard the train, which had left Jammu at about 8 pm to reach Pathankot after 9:30 pm, travelling a distance of about 100 km.

Dog squad, bomb disposal squad and other equipments were pressed into service to check the presence of any explosive inside the train.

Nothing has been found on the train so far.
