Technical snag takes Radio Kashmir off air

Technical snag takes Radio Kashmir off air
Srinagar: In a surprising development, Radio Kashmir Srinagar on Saturday, 27th August 2016 evening went off air and consequently several popular current affairs programmes like “Shehar Been”, “Gaimi Bayan Hund program” and “Wadi ki Awaz” could not be broadcast.

Programme head Radio Kashmir Srinagar Dr Hamayun Kaisar told: “The Narbal transmitter of Radio Kashmir developed a technical snag and current affairs programs including “Shehar Been”, “ Gaimi Bayan Hund program” and “Wadi ki Awaz” could not be broadcast."

He said that efforts were on in full swing to make the transmitter functional.

Interestingly, the separatist leadership has asked people to stop the employees of Radio Kashmir, Doordarshan Srinagar and State Information department from reaching to their duties on September 1 as part of resistance programme "to stop propaganda war machinery of Indian State".

Meanwhile At least 25 people were injured in fresh clashes between protesters and security forces in Kashmir today even as the death toll in the ongoing unrest in the Valley reached 68 amid curfew in many parts of the region.
