Top JeM commander among 4 ultras killed
Srinagar:  A top commander of terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad was among two militants killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Maharaja Bazaar area of the city on Monday 23rd May 2016 night,  police said.

Security forces launched an operation in Maharaja Bazaar following information about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said.

He said a gunfight broke out between security forces and militants. "So far, one militant has been killed," he said adding the operation was still in progress. Latest report said that one more militant was gunned down.


One of the dead militants was identified as Saifullah, a top Jaish commander in the Kashmir Valley, while the identity of the other is yet to be ascertained.

Encounter underway between security forces & militants in Sarai Bala, Jammu & Kashmir. Two militants gunned down, ANI reported. This is the 3rd terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir on this day, report said.
Earlier in the day Militants killed three Kashmir police in the shooting incidents in Srinagar, reports said.
