Uncertainty ends, Mehabooba to act
Srinagar/ New Delhi: PDP core group on Sunday, 17th January 2016
authorised party president Mehabooba Mufti to take call on Government with BJP
in Jammu & Kashmir. With this the uncertainty regarding the government
formation ended today.
The decision to authorise Mehabooba, was taken in the PDF
core group which met today for the first time after death of Mufti Mohammad
Sayeed. Meanwhile former chief Minister of J&K and leader of National
Conference clarified today that his party will not tie-up with BJP for
formation of Government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir has been under Governor's
rule since January 9 as neither PDP nor BJP staked claimed for forming
government.
The meeting was called against
the backdrop of reports that Mehbooba is unhappy over a variety of issues with
BJP, a party with which Mufti ran a coalition government for 10 months after
tying up in the wake of a hung verdict in assembly elections.
In the 87-member Assembly, PDP has 27 MLAs while BJP has 25
legislators.
