Javare Gowda passes away
Mysore: Noted Kannada writer D. Javare
Gowda, who is popularly known as “De Ja Gow,” passed away at hospital in Mysuru
on Monday, 30th May 2016 evening.
De
Ja Gow, (98), was admitted to Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences
and Research here on Saturday, 28th May 2016th night, after he
suffered a “heart failure”. He was treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of
the hospital.
However,
his condition worsened on Monday and he passed away around 7 p.m., Sadanand
S.K., hospital’s in-charge told The Hindu.
“De Ja Gow,” who has
written more than 135 books was the recipient of several prestigious awards including
Padmashree, Karnataka Ratna, Pampa and Nadoja awards. He served as Vice
Chanceller of Mysore University.
