 ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ನಡುಗಿಸುವ ದಿನಾಂಕ ‘19’

2022 ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್‌ 19ರ ಸೋಮವಾರ ಅಂದರೆ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ 2022 ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್‌ 20ರ ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಉತ್ತರ ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಭೂಕಂಪನವು ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತು. ಈ ಭೂಕಂಪವು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋವನ್ನು ಬೆಚ್ಚಿಬೀಳಿಸಿತು, ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಸತ್ತರು ಮತ್ತು ಅದು ಅಪಾರ ಬೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡಿತು. ರಿಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ 7.7 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಈ ಭೂಕಂಪವು ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಂತ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಗಡಗಡ ನಡುಗಿಸಿತು ಮತ್ತು ಜನರು ರಾಜಧಾನಿಯ ಬೀದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಓಡಿದರು.

ಹಾಗೆ ನೋಡಿದರೆ, ಭೂಕಂಪನವು ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅಲುಗಾಡಿಸಿದ ಘಟನೆ ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲನೆಯದಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಕಂಪನದ ದಿನಾಂಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಕಾಕತಾಳೀಯತೆಯು ದೇಶವು ಐದು ವರ್ಷಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಕಂಡ ತೀವ್ರ ನಡುಕವನ್ನು ಜನರು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿತು. ಈದಿನದ ಭೂಕಂಪನವು ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 19 ರ ದಿನದಂದು ಲ್ಯಾಟಿನ್ ಅಮೇರಿಕನ್ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿದ ದಾಖಲೆಯ ಮೂರನೇ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭೂಕಂಪವಾಗಿರುವುದೇ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ. ಈ ದಿನವು 1985ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಮಂದಿ ಮತ್ತು 2017 ರಲ್ಲಿ ನೂರಾರು ಜನರನ್ನು ಬಲಿತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಭೂಕಂಪನಗಳ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವ ದಿನವಾಗಿದೆ.

“ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಸೋಮವಾರದ ಭೂಕಂಪನದ ಸಮಯವು ಕೇವಲ ಕಾಕತಾಳೀಯವಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಭೂಕಂಪನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. "ಇದನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಲು ಯಾವುದೇ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲ" ಎಂದೂ ಅದು ಹೇಳಿತು.ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ನಗರದ ಕೆಲವು ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಇತರ ಕಾರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

“ಇದು ಬಹುದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಾಕತಾಳೀಯ! ಇದು ದೇವರ ಸೂಚನೆಯಾಗಿರಲೂಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಳ್ಳಿಹಾಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ" ಎಂದು 57 ವರ್ಷದ ಫೆಡೆರಿಕೊ ಗಾರ್ಸಿಯಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು. 1985 ಮತ್ತು 2017ರ ವಿಪತ್ತುಗಳ  ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಕವಾಯತಿನ ತುರ್ತು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಒಂದು ಗಂಟೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ  ಭೂಮಿ ಗಡಗಡ ನಡುಗಿತು.

ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 2017ರ ಭೂಕಂಪನ

2017 ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಇದೇ ದಿನಾಂಕದಂದು ಅಂದರೆ, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್‌ 19ರಂದು, ಅದಕ್ಕೂ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಭೂಕಂಪನದ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಕವಾಯತಿನ ಕೆಲವೇ ಗಂಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಿಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ 7.1 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು, ಮನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಚೇರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸುವುದನ್ನು ಇಡೀ ನಗರವು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸದ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವೇ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಭೂಕಂಪನಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಾರು ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳು ಕುಸಿತು 370 ಮಂದಿ ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದರು. ಪ್ಯೂಬ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪನದ ಕೇಂದ್ರಬಿಂದು ಇತ್ತು.

1985ರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿನಾಶಕಾರಿ ಭೂಕಂಪನ

1985 ರ ವರ್ಷದ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 19 ರಂದು ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿನಾಶಕಾರಿ ಭೂಕಂಪನ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಇದು ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕನ್ ದೇಶದ ಮೈಕೋಕಾನ್ ಕರಾವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಸಾವು ಮತ್ತು ನೋವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಈ ಭೂಕಂಪನದಲ್ಲಿ 10,000 ಜನರು ಪ್ರಾಣ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. 30,000 ಜನರು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಜನರು ನಿರಾಶ್ರಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಇದು ರಿಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ 8.1 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ತೀವ್ರ ಭೂಕಂಪನವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ 3,000 ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಲಸಮಗೊಳಿಸಿತ್ತ. 100,000 ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಜಖಂಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು.

ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ʼಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್‌ 19ʼ ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ಪಾಲಿನ ದುರದೃಷ್ಟಕರ ದಿನವೇ?

ಹಾಗೇನಿಲ್ಲ. ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಈ ʼಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್‌ 19ʼರ ದಿನಾಂಕ ದುರದೃಷ್ಟಕರ ದಿನವಲ್ಲ. ಈ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ತಿಂಗಳ ʼ19ʼನೇ ದಿನಾಂಕ ಕೂಡಾ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ವಿನಾಶಕಾರಿ ದಿನವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ರಿಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಮಾಪಕದ ಮೂಲಕ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಟೋಂಗಾ ಭೂಕಂಪ

2022ರ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 19 ರಂದು ಭೂಕಂಪನವು ಟೋಂಗಾದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿದೆ. ರಿಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ 6.3 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯಿದ್ದ ಈ ಭೂಕಂಪನವು ಟೋಂಗಾದ ಓಹೊನುವಾದಿಂದ 455.5 ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ-ನೈಋತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಳಿಸಿತು. ಭೂಕಂಪವು 10.0 ಕಿಮೀ (6.21 ಮೈಲುಗಳು) ಆಳದಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು, ಯಾವುದೇ ಸುನಾಮಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಯುಎಸ್‌ ಜಿಎಸ್‌ (USGS) ಹೇಳಿದೆ.

ಫಿಲಿಪೈನ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಜಪಾನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ

2022 ವರ್ಷದ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ 19ರ ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಫಿಲಿಪೈನ್ಸ್‌ ದೇಶದ ಮಿಂಡಾನಾವೊ ದ್ವೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ರಿಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ 6.0 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪನ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಯುರೋಪಿಯನ್ ಮೆಡಿಟರೇನಿಯನ್ ಸೆಸ್ಮಾಲಾಜಿಕಲ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ (EMSC) ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಭೂಕಂಪನವು 10 ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ (6.21 ಮೈಲುಗಳು) ಆಳದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ವಾರಿ ದ್ವೀಪ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪನದ ಪೆಟ್ಟು

ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಮೇ 19 ರಂದು, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪೆಸಿಫಿಕ್ ಮಹಾಸಾಗರದ ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ವಾರಿ ದ್ವೀಪ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ರಿಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ 6.7 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪನ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತು. ರಿಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ 7.3 ರ ಆರಂಭಿಕ ತೀವ್ರತೆಯಿದ್ದ ಭೂಕಂಪನವು 10 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಆಳದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಭೂಕಂಪನದ ನಂತರ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸುನಾಮಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಯುಎಸ್ ಸುನಾಮಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. ಮ್ಯಾಕ್ವಾರಿ ದ್ವೀಪವು ಟ್ಯಾಸ್ಮೆನಿಯಾದ ಆಗ್ನೇಯಕ್ಕೆ 1,600 ಕಿಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ, ನ್ಯೂಜಿಲೆಂಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಟಾರ್ಕ್ಟಿಕಾ ನಡುವೆ ಅರ್ಧದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇದೆ.

ಜಪಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪನ

2022 ರ ಜೂನ್ 19 ರಂದು ಜಪಾನ್ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಇಶಿಕಾವಾದಲ್ಲಿ 5.2 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪನ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಭೂಕಂಪನವು ಸುಮಾರು 10 ಕಿಲೋಮೀಟರ್ ಆಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಸುನಾಮಿಯ ಯಾವುದೇ ಲಕ್ಷಣ ಬೆದರಿಕೆ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಅಮೆರಿಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಭೂಕಂಪಗಳು

ಅಮೆರಿಕದ ಮಿಡ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ಸ್ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಭೂಕಂಪಗಳು ವರದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ವಾಟ್ಸ್ ಹಿಲ್ ರೋಡ್ ಬಳಿ ಎಲ್ಜಿನ್‌ನಿಂದ ಈಶಾನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ 3.2 ಮೈಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 12:06 ಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲ ಭೂಕಂಪ ವರದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಆರು ನಿಮಿಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 12:12 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ, ಫೋರ್ಟ್ ಜಾಕ್ಸನ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಬಳಿ ಎಲ್ಜಿನ್‌ನ ಪೂರ್ವ-ಆಗ್ನೇಯಕ್ಕೆ 3.7 ಮೈಲುಗಳಷ್ಟು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ 2.11 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪನ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 19ರಂದು ಉತ್ತರಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪ

2022ರ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ (ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 19) ಬೆಳ್ಳಂಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಲಕ್ನೋ ಬಳಿ ರಿಕ್ಟರ್ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ 5.2 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪನದ ಅನುಭವವಾಯಿತು. ಭೂಕಂಪನವು ಲಕ್ನೋದ ಉತ್ತರ-ಈಶಾನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸುಮಾರು 139 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಭವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂತು. ಇದು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ 82 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಆಳದಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು.

ಇದೇ ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 19 ರಂದು ಹಿಮಾಚಲ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಕಿನ್ನೌರ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 3.1 ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಭೂಕಂಪ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಭೂಕಂಪದ ಕೇಂದ್ರಬಿಂದುವು ಕಿನ್ನೌರ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 5 ಕಿಮೀ ಆಳದಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು 12.02 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಪನದ ಅನುಭವವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಮೆಕ್ಸಿಕೋ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪನ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಮುಂಚೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್‌ 18ರಂದು ತೈವಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಾ ತೀವ್ರ ರೀತಿಯ ಭೂಕಂಪ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಅದರ ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ವಿಡಿಯೋವನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿ:

ಕೊರೋನಾ ಕಾಟದ ಮಧ್ಯೆ  ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಲಘು ಭೂಕಂಪ

ನವದೆಹಲಿ: ದೆಹಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸುತ್ತ ಮುತ್ತಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ 2020 ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 12ರ ಭಾನುವಾರ ಲಘು ಭೂಕಂಪ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿತು.  ಭೂಕಂಪದ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬಿಂದು ದೆಹಲಿ-ಉತ್ತರಪ್ರದೇಶ ಗಡಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಭೂಕಂಪದ  ತೀವ್ರತೆ ರಿಕ್ಟರ್ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ ೩.೫ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಂಜೆ ೫.೪೫ರ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಲಘು ಭೂಕಂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಜೀವಹಾನಿ ಅಥವಾ ಅಸ್ತಿ, ಪಾಸ್ತಿ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೋವಿಡ್ ೧೯ ಸೋಂಕು ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಕ್ ಡೌನ್ ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜನರು ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದರು.

ಲಘು ಭೂಕಂಪ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಘಟನೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜನರು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಅಪ್ ಡೇಟ್ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ವರದಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿತು.

ಬಳಿಕ ಭೂಕಂಪದ ವಿಷಯ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಅರವಿಂದ ಕೇಜ್ರಿವಾಲ್ ಅವರು ‘ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುವೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪ, ತಾಷ್ಕೆಂಟಿನಿಂದ ದೆಹಲಿವರೆಗೆ ಭೂಮಿ ಗಡಗಡ..

ನವದೆಹಲಿ: ದೆಹಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶ (ಎನ್‌ಸಿಆರ್) ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ 2019 ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 20ರ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಸಂಜೆ ೫.೧೩ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಭೂಮಿ ಕಂಪಿಸಿತು.

ಭೂಕಂಪನವು ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ನಿಮಿಷ ಕಾಲ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ನಡುಗಿಸಿತು.

ಆಫ್ಘಾನಿಸ್ಥಾನದ ಹಿಂದುಕುಶ್ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಈ ಭೂಕಂಪನದ ತೀವ್ರತೆ  ರಿಕ್ಟರ್ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ ೬.೮ರಷ್ಟು ಇತ್ತು.

ಜಮ್ಮು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರ, ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಪಂಜಾಬಿನಲ್ಲೂ ಭೂಮಿ ಕಂಪಿಸಿದ ವರದಿಗಳು ಬಂದವು.

‘೬.೮ ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪನದ ಅಧಿಕೇಂದ್ರವು ಹಿಂದುಕುಶ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತು’  ಎಂದು ಭೂಕಂಪ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಭೂಕಂಪನದಿಂದ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಸಾವು ನೋವು ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತತ್ ಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ವರದಿಗಳು ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ.

‘ರಿಕ್ಟರ್ ಮಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿ ೬.೩ರಷ್ಟು ತೀವ್ರತೆಯ ಭೂಕಂಪ ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ಸಂಜೆ ೫.೦೯ಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಭsವಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಇದರ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬಿಂದು ಆಫ್ಘಾನಿಸ್ಥಾನದ ರಾಜಧಾನಿ ಕಾಬೂಲಿನಿಂದ ೨೫೦ ಕಿಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು’ ಎಂದು ಭೂಕಂಪ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ತಿಳಿಸಿತು.

ಗುರುಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಟ್ಯೂಬ್ ಲೈಟ್‌ಗಳು ನಡುಗಿದ್ದುದನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ್ದು, ೧೯೦ ಕಿಮೀ ಆಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಕಂಪನ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದಾಜು ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನ, ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಮಿ ಕಂಪಿಸಿದೆ. ದೇಶದ ಹಲವು ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊರಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವರದಿಗಳು ಬಂದಿವೆ.

ರಷ್ಯಾದ ತಾಷ್ಕೆಂಟಿನಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು ೧೫೦೦ ಕಿಮೀ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನವದೆಹಲಿಯವರೆಗೂ ಭೂಮಿ ಕಂಪಿಸಿದ ಅನುಭವವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ಯಾರಿಸ್ಸಿನ ಯುರೋಪಿಯನ್ - ಮೆಡಿಟರೇನಿಯನ್ ಸೆಷ್ಮೊಲಾಜಿಕಲ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿತು.

ಕೋಣೆಗಳ ಒಳಗೆ ಲೈಟುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸೀಲಿಂಗ್ ಫ್ಯಾನುಗಳು ನಡುಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವಿಡಿಯೋಗಳನ್ನು ಹಲವರು ಟ್ವಿಟ್ಟರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದರು.

Washington: An earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale the island of Mindanao in Philippines on Saturday, 29^th April 2017 morning, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake struck offshore near Glan town in Sarangani province at a depth of 10 km around 4.23 a.m., 68 km south of the city of General Santos, Xinhua news agency quoted the USGS as saying.

Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology chief Renato Solidum said that residents near coastal areas in the region should be wary of possible tsunami waves.

However, no tsunami warning was raised after the quake. There were no immediate reports of injuries or casualties.

New Delhi: Strong earthquake rattled north India on Monday, 6^th February 2017 evening. 

Tremors that lasted for nearly 30 seconds were felt in Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttar Pradesh also.

According to National Seismological Bureau, the epicentre of the earthquake measuring 5.8 magnitude on the Richter Scale was in Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand.

Earlier in the day, a 5.7-magnitude earthquake also hit central Colombia, shaking large cities including the capital Bogota, officials said, indicating there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

Rome: A strong earthquake rattled Rome on Wednesday, 26^th October 2016, just two months after a powerful temblor toppled villages in central Italy, killing nearly 300 people.

The 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck central Italy, 122 kilometres north-east of Rome, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. Nevertheless, the quake shook centuries-old palazzi in Rome's historic center.

The Aug. 24 quake destroyed the hilltop village of Amatrice and other nearby towns.

New Delhi/Kathmandu: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale jolted Nepal on Friday, 05^th February 2016 night, as per the US Geological Survey (USGS). Around 10 people are reportedly injured Anamnagar area of Kathmandu .

According to initial reports, the epicentre of the quake was detected 16 kilometres from Kathmandu, in Nepal.

Due to the earthquake in Nepal, strong tremors were felt in India - parts of Bihar including Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Bettiah, Darbhanga, Raxaul, ANI reported.

Panic-stricken people in Nepal ran out of their houses.

A nationwide alert had been issued by Nepal government authorities. Last year in April when the Himalayan country had faced a devastating destruction after the country was hit by 7.8 magnitude earthquake in which more than 10,000 people died across the country.

New Delhi/Lahore/ Kabul: A strong earthquake rocked North India, Pakistan & Afghanistan killing atleast 180 persons and injuring hundreds.

According to reports the epicentre of the earthquake was in Hindukush Mountain region in north Afghanistan and has been clocked at 7.5 on the Richter scale.

People ran out of buildings as earthquake jolted in many parts of India including Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Uttara Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Reports from Pakistan say that at least 180 people died in earth quake. Several building fell and several developed cracks. In Afghanistan more than 12 children died in stampede in a school after earthquake.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.5 and occurred at a depth of 212 kilometers (130 miles) with its epicentre in the Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan. It struck at around 2.40 PM, sending ripples across several states like Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, the National Capital Region (NCR), Punjab, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan

Rescue official Latifir Rehman says 21 people were killed and 200 were injured in various parts of the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Monday’s earthquake. Another official, Fiaz Khan, says at least 8 people were killed and 70 injured in the Bajur tribal region bordering Afghanistan.

Tsunami Alert Raised

SANTIAGO: A 8.3 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Chile on Wednesday evening, (Thursday morning in India 17th September  2015) rocking buildings in the capital and sending people scurrying on to the streets. A tsunami alert was also issued, authorities said.

The epicentre was out at sea, 246 km from Santiago, Xinhua reported, citing the United States Geological Service. According to preliminary reports 5 people have been killed.

Early reports indicate the earthquake occurred shortly at 7.55 p.m. local time at a depth of 10 km.

A tsunami alert was immediately issued by the Chilean interior ministry and by the US' Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

Chile and Peru are on high alert, although the alert was spread across a wide area reaching as far as Hawaii.

The magnitude of the earthquake was first reported at 7.2 by the University of Chile's Seismological Service and later revised up to 7.7.

The USGS first reported the magnitude of the quake at 7.9 and revised it up to 8.3.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries in the minutes following the earthquake but Chile has dispatched its Minister of the Interior Jorge Burgos to the zone to investigate.

Weather channels urged people located along the coast to move inland in preparation for the tsunami. Initial estimates from them said that a possible tsunami would make landfall at around 9.37 p.m local time.

The earthquake was felt particularly strongly in the towns of Valparaiso and Coquimbo and lasted for approximately one minute, according to eyewitness statements in local press.

Santiago Airport was immediately evacuated.

Videos posted on social media networks show the earthquake was felt as far as the Argentinean capital of Buenos Aires, about 1,368 km to the east of Chile.
