Infiltration bid foiled, gunfight on,
 4 soldiers injured

Srinagar:  Five soldiers were injured on Tuesday 14^th June 2016,  in an ongoing encounter near the Line of Control (LoC) with a group of terrorists who were intercepted by the Army when they were trying to infiltrate from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The infiltrators were attempting to sneak in through the Macchil sector of Kupwara district of Kashmir when they were confronted by the army, an army official said here.

Alert army troops foiled an infiltration bid in Machhil sector this afternoon, the official said.

He said the militants have been engaged by the soldiers and exchange of firing was going on till reports last came in.

Five soldiers were injured in the ongoing operation, the official said.
