Berhampur:  Gas tanker overturned , 3 killed

Berhampur: Three persons were killed after a gas tanker lost control and overturned near Chhattrapur College Square here on Sunday, 17^th January 2016 and people were asked to keep away from 1 km radar of the national  highway in chhattarapur.

According to sources, the incident took place in the afternoon when the gas tanker was on its way to Bhubaneswar from Berhampur.

The tanker lost control while trying to avoid an accident with a scooter and rammed into a nearby betel shop, crushed the three persons under. All three died on the spot, eyewitnesses said.

On being informed about the incident, police rushed to the spot and restricted movement of vehicles through the route as gas was leaking from the tanker. Power supply was also cut in the locality to avoid any fire accident due to the leakage of gas.

Besides, police has also called in an expert team to start rescue operations.
