Operation still on, 7 soldiers, 6 terorists killed
The terrorists, suspected to be from Pakistan and who attacked the
IAF base, failed to destroy IAF assets due to timely action by security forces,
union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi said in New Delhi on Sunday. The main aim
of Terrorists was thus defeated.
"The operation is still continuing. The engagement is still
on. Operation will continue till the whole air base has been cleared of any
intruders, any terrorist," Air Commodore J.S. Dhamoon, the Air Officer
Commanding (AOC) of the Pathankot Air Force Station (AFS), told the media.
The Terror high drama was started on the wee hours of Saturday 2nd January 2016, with the group of terrorists allegedly supported by Pakisthan attacking the Indian Air Force base.

Operation to nail the terrorists was slowed down in the night, but started again after firing from terrorists who suspected hiding in the Air force base. However two terrorists were killed by evening.
